I’m Conor — I’m from Ireland, a country that now ranks 2nd in the world for GDP per capita. But just a few decades ago, we were seen as a struggling economy.

That transformation always fascinated me.

Over the past year, I’ve travelled from Mexico City to Kuala Lumpur — and in every new place, I found myself asking the same questions:

“What is the economy here?”

“How did this place grow?”

Nation Playbooks is my way of answering that.Each week, I break down the strategies, policies, and decisions that drive economic transformation. From countries like South Korea to regions like Silicon Valley.

It’s for people who want to understand how places succeed — and what we can learn from them.
